Human Centered Learning & Belonging

Some of the most powerful learning doesn’t happen in courses—it happens in conversation. In this body of work, I used instructional design skills to shape how people connect, reflect, and grow together. Whether designing identity-centered resources, creating psychologically safe dialogue spaces, or embedding inclusive practices into hiring and onboarding, I approached learning as a tool for belonging.

Through events management, peer-led research, and strategic communications, I’ve helped organizations move from performative equity to sustainable, human-centered practice—blending content strategy with compassion, and structure with story.

Chess Game

Strategic Hiring:
V3 Certification

As a recruiter and early advocate for inclusive hiring, I supported Fors Marsh’s participation in the Virginia Values Veterans (V3) program and expanded our use of values-aligned interview practices. I addressed both tactical gaps in candidate pipelines and systemic barriers around how military and minoritized candidates were assessed.

Actions Taken

  • Attended V3 training to align hiring strategy with veteran readiness standards

  • Audited job postings and pipelines for inclusive, military-friendly language

  • Trained hiring managers to evaluate “culture fit” using values—not personal bias

  • Designed compliant, values-forward interview templates and facilitated training for selection committees

Tools, Method, Impact

Tools Used

  • MS Office (Word, PPT, Excel, Outlook)

  • JazzHR, Paycor

  • SharePoint

  • Internal SOPs

  • Hiring Committee Documents
